Memories are so important. Every family needs to create moments that they will treasure forever. It is nice to create memories that you can be reminded of in years to come. I have worked with a number of families that are trying to find ways to commemorate moments in their lives. I have heard stories of the things that they have done to create beautiful memories. Many families usually do something special when an exciting event, such as the birth of a child, happens. From all the ideas that I have heard, these are some of my favorite ideas. These are really great ideas for families with multiple children, but they will work for any size family. Take a look at these memory-making ideas.
Plant a Tree
This is a perfect option for when a new baby is born. As your baby grows, the tree will grow as well. This is really great if you have older children. Planting a tree is something that your family can enjoy doing together. The older children will really enjoy digging in the dirt. Parents can be in charge of placing the tree into the ground. This is a fun way to spend the day outdoors. You could even make a picnic out of it!
Make a Time Capsule
This is something that you can do for each one of your children once they are around 3 or 4. This is also a 2-parter. Take some items that they think are special, or will remind them of their favorite things. Also, put find some items that they may have outgrown as well as some photos of them. Place these items in an airtight metal container. Find a nice spot where you can bury it in your backyard. You will also need to create a marker to show where it has been buried.
Later, when your child has grown up and experiencing a major life change, such as going to college, getting married, or having a baby, dig up the time capsule. The longer you wait to dig up the capsule the better. It will make your son or daughter a little bit nostalgic, and you can go through the items together and remember special times that had happened while they were young.
Create a Sibling Imprint
Sibling imprints are something that your family can enjoy together. This is something that your baby could participate in as well. Make sure that you have a professional do this with clay. I have seen families make the mistake of using a homemade kit, and they are messy and do not get the details of your children’s handprints or footprints. Professional imprints will always look nicer and can be customized for your family. With a professional ceramic imprint, you will see all of the details of the handprints and footprints, and unlike other homemade kits, your sibling imprint will last forever.
Find creative ways to make memories with your family. Make sure that you invite grandparents to get involved as well! Children are only small for so long. Treasure the time that you have with them, and create memories with them that will last forever.
